Do I need a Claude API key?
Yes — you bring your own Anthropic API key. This means you pay per call directly to Anthropic (a few cents per batch), with no markup from us. You stay in full control of your usage and costs.
Why crypto only? No PayPal/card?
Privacy first. Crypto lets you subscribe without linking your identity or banking details to a meme tool. We use NOWPayments — it accepts BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC. No account required on their end either.
What counts as an "export"?
One export = one file written to disk (image or video). Re-exporting the same file counts again. Skipped files (already exported, unchanged) don't count.
Does it work on Mac?
Yes. DubMeme runs on macOS 12+ (Monterey and newer). Both Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) and Intel Macs are supported. You'll need to install FFmpeg and Tesseract separately on Mac — instructions are included in the download.
Is my content uploaded anywhere?
No. DubMeme processes everything locally on your machine. Only the caption text is sent to Claude for translation — your images and videos never leave your computer.
What is the "Rephrase" feature for?
Rephrase rewrites the caption in the same language with fresh wording — useful when you want variation across accounts posting the same niche content, or when original OCR text is awkward.
